Larry is the founder of and pizza maker behind Lorenzo’s Pizzeria, which he launched in Oberlin in 1982. Inspired by his Uncle Augie, a renowned pizza maker in Cleveland, Larry has raised the bar so high on authentic Italian pizza that it’s hard to beat.
Always concerned about health, Larry has added more vegan and vegetarian pizza choices to his menu. He has also perfected lighter crusts, including gluten-free, soy-free, egg-free, whole wheat and “skinny.”
Most important, Larry is dedicated to preserving the time-honored techniques of traditional Italian pizza making. He continues to travel to Italy, New York City and Los Angeles to study with top artisans in the field.
Larry is a graduate of Kent State University with a B.A. in marketing.
